Work for CAA Advocate for institution, program, faculty, students, and profession Objective consultant to provide insight into global best practices in higher education Informed consultant to provide educational guidance within framework of institution s mission within framework of institution s mission
Read the Guide for External Review Teams; review the sample report Read through the CAA Standards to be familiar with the content, where to find information, (Standards, Stipulations, and Annexes) Read sample ERT reports; review format; review how to write Requirements and Suggestions Don t get overwhelmed there are people to guide and support you!
Read Self-Study from the institution Identify (from the team chair or commissioner) which sections you are to write or co-write Be familiar with international best practices for your content (program or institution); have references ready; are there other accrediting bodies that could be useful Participate in a virtual chat with other ERT members if scheduled
Print a hard copy of the CAA Standards (optional) Print the institution s report (optional) Read through entire report; make notes for further review Closely review each section and evidence (usually in appendices) as I review evidence, I note the pages where I find evidence so I don t have to search again Note confirmation, contradictions, gaps, get list of questions started Start drafting sections!
