  1. Aerospace Engineering American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) https://www.aiaa.org/

  2. Aerospace Engineering 2

  3. What Is Aerospace Engineering? Aerospace engineering is the branch of engineering focused on the design, construction, and testing of aircraft and spacecraft. Applies the fascinating science behind the forces of nature and the physical properties of aircraft, rockets, and spacecraft. Broken into two major overlapping disciplines: Aeronautical engineering (for vehicles that stay within Earth s atmosphere) Astronautical engineering (for vehicles that travel beyond Earth s atmosphere). 3

  4. What Do Aerospace Engineers Do? Design, develop, test, and build aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles But that is not all: Study how wind affects a tall skyscraper Design high-performance cars, boats, trains, and submarines Travel to other planets 4

  5. How Do You Become an Aerospace Engineer? Get good grades Take your math and science classes in high school Choose a college with an accredited engineering degree program (ie. ABET) Become involved with local engineering chapters like American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) 5

  6. What Do Aerospace Engineers Work On Today? 6

  7. What Will Aerospace Engineers Work On In The Future? 7
