Lesvos is a beautiful island in the northeast Aegean Sea. Its capital city is Mytilene, situated in the southeast part of the island.
FIRST PART -MOUNTAIN If you re in Lesvos you have to visit a mountain. In particular, you can visit the village of Agiasos at the foot of Mount Olympos. Agiasos is in the center of the island. It s at an altitude of 475 m, it has a population of about 2,500 residents and it s 26 km far from Mytilene.
FIRST PART - MOUNTAIN In Agiasos there are narrow cobbled streets, traditional houses, a marketplace with local products, cafes, taverns, folk art shops and a variety of museums.
SECOND PART - SEA If you re in Lesvos you also have to visit a beach. One of the most beautiful beaches in the island is the sandy beach of Sigri and here there is some information about the village: Sigri is in the west part of the island. It s at an altitude of 20 m, its population is about 400 residents and it s 96 km far from Mytilene.
SECOND PART - SEA In Sigri there is the Petrified Forest Museum of Lesvos, an old castle, a lot of hotels and rental rooms, fish taverns and a port. There is also a harbor, sheltered by a small island, Nissiopi that you can reach by boat.
