  4. Achieving the Dream (ATD) Achieving the Dream is a nonprofit organization made of a network of over 300 colleges. Purpose: Aid student growth and advancement by addressing inequities within education. Functions: Identify areas of student needs Create framework and targeted programming based on data evidence to address needs Apply in practice with collaborating colleges to strengthen student outcomes in real time 4

Example of ATD Programming: Trident Technical College, SC Joined Achieving the Dream network in 2007 Transitioned to 7 week terms instead of 15 week semesters, earning Leader College Award in 2012 Average Outcomes: Success rates increased 12% Withdrawal rates decreased 6% Graduation rates increased 8% 5

Gateway to College (GTC) Target: Students who are no longer enrolled in school or are severely off track to graduation Functions: Work directly with students, faculty, and advisors to reenroll students until their completion Create academic and career goal timelines to map completion of diploma Free enrollment in dual credit college courses to earn credits while finishing diploma Outcomes: On average, students earn 20 college credits by their high school graduation Celebrated over 10,000 successfully recovered graduates Received $20 million donation from Mackenzie Scott

  12. My Journey Accepted into program where I was able to conduct independent research and develop a written thesis and presentation with the opportunity to present at multiple schools. Completed a 3-step interview process to receive salaried job offer to work remotely as a research data analyst at ATD. I took a dual credit psychology class in high school, sparking my interest in the field. Introduction to Psych Research Internship Employment Undergraduate Experience Graduation Minored in psychology for the first 2 years, switched to psychology major during 3rd year after working on various projects as a research assistant in a psychology lab. Continued paid research internship until I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology w/ minor in Biological Sciences. 3/1/20XX 12
