  1. Research Project Standard: Learning Target: I can research and analyze a given topic. Due Date: February 10, 2022 This will be a test grade Directions: You will choose a topic and topics will be discussed or a person from the list given. You may work independently of with a partner (one person) Projects must be neat, colorful and engaging to audience. All projects will be displayed and used to create a class mural in the hallway.

  2. IDENTIFY AND INVESTIGATE IMPORTANT PERIODS IN BLACK HISTORY 1. Have students identify and learn about important periods in Black history which may include: 1. The Middle Passage 2. Slavery in America 3. Civil War and Reconstruction 4. Abolition 5. Great Migration 6. Harlem Renaissance 7. Jim Crow Segregation Era 8. Civil Rights Movement

  3. Working alone or with a partner students will study one of the time periods listed. After conducting research, students can undertake one or more of the following projects to demonstrate their learning: 1. Create mini-timelines for the time period. 2. Provide biographical information about important people during that time period. 3.Draw or paint portraits of important people and events and write a placard that goes along with the portrait. 4.Create a mini-documentary about the time period. (QR code) 5. Write and perform a skit demonstrating something about the time period. 6.Create a complete Black History timeline for specific period

  4. LEARN ABOUT IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN BLACK HISTORY: Students will identify and study important people in Black history. The process of identifying people will be a learning experience as will the actual research. Begin with categories such as: 1.artists 2.political activists 3.inventors 4.spiritual leaders writers 7.musicians 5.business people 6. 8.athletes 9.entertainers
