Reclass Opportunities ASVAB Retakes Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT): Evaluates military personnel who wish to improve their ASVAB scores for reenlistment or reclassification. The AFCT can be administered unlimited times in a Soldier's career. Memo required from commander to take AFCT. You can not retake your ASVAB/AFCT while in the IRR! Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) Offered to MOS-qualified Soldiers upon signing a six-year reenlistment Payments are made directly to the loan holder. Please note: payments are taxable income. Payments are made on Federal Education loans that are at least one year old at the time of Soldier s contract anniversary date. SLRP payments are not automatic; you must apply annually Maximum payment is 15% of loan balance, but cannot exceed contract amount SLRP is forfeited once you enter the IRR! Blended Retirement System (BRS) Your contributions are matched by up to 5% of your pay and tied to the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) Lifecycle fund Service Automatic (1%) Contributions: If you opt in, the Army will begin contributing an amount equal to 1% of your basic pay into your TSP account each month. Service Matching Contributions: The Army will match up to an additional 4% of your basic pay. You can only receive a maximum contribution from your service of an amount equal to 5% of your basic pay. Enrollment: If you opted in for BRS, you will be automatically enrolled into the TSP s Lifecycle (L) Fund appropriate for your retirement Need more info? Continuation Pay Cash bonus given to service members who are enrolled under the Blended Retirement System, meet certain requirements and elect to serve additional years of service (4 Years for CY 22). Can receive in conjunction with other incentives i.e., reup bonus, Unit Bonus, Student Loan Repayment Program etc Members of the USAR in a drilling status may be eligible to receive a multiplier of 0.5 to six times their monthly basic pay (as if serving on active-duty).
