Careers will provide students an opportunity to understand the links between School and the Career that they may one day aspire to as they begin to understand the world around them. They will focus on some basic skills and some common mis- conceptions. During their time in Year 7 They will develop an understanding of the importance of school and its links to a future career.
Year 8 The Realities of Careers and the Work place 1. Our Careers lessons are building a culture of understanding where our School life will influence the way in which we may adopt a future career.Links to real life issues such as Income,tax and budgeting emphasises the importance of how our society works and where we might fit into it. Throughout the Year 8 Programme students are constantly reminded about the relevance and necessity in progressing in school in all aspects as this will equip them for aafuture career and all responsibilities that it will bring.

You have began to explore different aspects of the world around you.You are growing in terms of skills and confidence. Now you need to consider what career choice you can make. Why are we learning this? We are going to examine further opportunities that take place outside in the real world. There is a strong emphasis on you beginning to understand that much of what we do in life, our choices ,careers, final destinations is your responsibility. Schools,parents and other organisations' can help you,influence you and even direct you to where your strengths lie. The main responsibility lies with you. Take advantage of all that you are taught!
Year10 Making Career Choices Lessons in PHSE 1. What is the right career for me? You have to make begin to focus on making informed decisions You will be starting to recognise that you have different skills and talents. This is clearly a journey you have not done before therefore readiness is crucial. They will study and explore a wide range of industries and careers that await them when they leave school. Alongside the comprehensive Careers programme Start Profile tracks and builds the Student Profile as they progress through school. Colleges and Outside agencies are consistently invited into the schools to give students meaningful encounters with outside employers,all students will have two meaningful WEX enconters throughout their time at IMFS
