  4. Cyberculture Cyberculture or computer culture is the culture that has emerged from the use of computer. It is also the study of various social phenomena associated with the Internet and other new forms of the network communication, such as online communities, online multi-player gaming, wearable computing, social gaming, social media, mobile apps, augmented reality, and texting,[1] and includes issues related to identity, privacy, and network formation. Main Idea : Definition of cyberculture The culture created from the use of computer Internet and the web made possible a culture apparently free of many of the constraints that are operated in other media. The web was decentralized and outside the control of governments, elites and business corporations. Information could be freely exchanged without anyone censoring or editing it. When on the Net, people were anonymous and could assume, and play with any identity they choose. With others they could construct their own virtual communities, their own society and their own world. They were free of their relationships, their communities, and their bodies. M.I: Freedom (advantage) S.I: 1. Free from being controlled 2. Freedom to make choices: 2.1 identity 2.2 relationships 2.3 information As many as the advantages of the cyber culture have, there are also some disadvantages on them. It is so much easier to be scammed online than real life. One click and you can send thousands of dollars for a person you never seen before. In some instances, people can also experience hacking. Hacking is anything made by other people to affect your devices. They can put virus in your computer and your computer will eventually break down. They can put tracking software in your computers and get your private information and many more. M.I: Possibility of being scammed or hacked S.I: 1. Anybody can claim to know you. 2. Anybody can trespass your devices.

  5. Example Notes Summary The article is about the pros and cons of cyberculture, a culture created from the use of computer. In Cyberculture, people are free from being controlled. Hence, they can share anything they like. They also have freedom to choose their own identity, relationship and community. However, they are facing with possibilities of being scammed or hacked.
