  2. Location Relative Location: About 3 quarters of the way from Hawaii to Indonesia Absolute Location: 6 N 158 E ME

Place Physical Characteristics: Human Characteristics: Landforms- Caroline Islands Languages- English and Chuukese Soil- Fertile soil Religions- Roman Catholic and Protestant Climate- Tropical; heavy year- round Culture- Shares similar culture Resources- timber, marine products, rainfall, phosphate Shares common languages and religions with other regions ME

  4. Movement Transportation: -airports seaports People move here because of the good climate and amount of freedom. Exports and Imports: Exports- fish, sakav, black pepper Imports- food, beverages, clothing, ho usehold electronics -roadways - ME

  5. Region Regions: Yap- made up of 4 different islands, very high temperatures Chuuk- very high temperatures, consists of several island groups. Phonpel- one of the wettest places on earth Kosrae- very high temperatures ME

  6. Human- Environment Interaction Most people in Micronesia live in the city of Weno because it is the largest city. The people of Micronesia have adapted to their environment by getting used to many climate changes. The economy of Micronesia is a very good economy. KJ

  7. Fun Facts Micronesia uses the U.S. dollar as their currency. Nightlife is nonexistent- by 10 p.m., all bars are restaurants are closed. Crime is not common in Micronesia. The dead are usually buried in backyards instead of graveyards. KJ
