FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Galatians 5:13-26 13You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.14For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbour as yourself. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. conceited, provoking and envying each other. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have 26Let us not become
LIVING FOR GOD 1 Peter 4:7-11 7The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.8Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. without grumbling.10Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God s grace in its various forms.11If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 9Offer hospitality to one another
GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 27 4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.6There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 27Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

COMMUNITY - BUILDING COMMUNITY IS MISSION Possibilities: Friendships Hospitality Conversations Invitations Participation Belonging Acceptance
COMING TO FAITH For most people coming to faith is a journey. Faith in the city this report from the 1980 s identified that it usually takes about 4 years from the first point of contact for someone to become a regular worshipping member of a church. Regular does not necessarily mean weekly. Giving people a sense of belonging is part of that journey.
THOUGHTS FOR THE FUTURE Consider Caf church and other styles of worship The times and days we have our services How we welcome people if they attend How we support people to be part of our services, for example the liturgy, when to sit, when to stand, the way we move during the service, all these are challenging for people who are not familiar with church Please remember - it is a huge step for someone to walk through a church door, how can we make them feel comfortable and encourage them to feel as if they belong
THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER How the seed is planted The different ways in which the seed is received Blessing those who come to us, valuing them for who they are and where they are, and walking alongside them Allowing people to simply belong and experience the life of the Christian Community without commitment This can start the journey of believing, they are not signing up to the entire package of doctrine but they are recognising Jesus This can lead to a new way of behaving
