Brooke Guanzon My trip to the Philippines
Cebu Pictures/Information about Cebu As soon as I walked out of the airplane a wave of hot air hit me. When we got inside the hotel it had a nice, clean smell, like you were walking in flowers, a very fresh scent. The view from our room wasn t very good. We could only see the street and the mall. Crossing that street to get to the mall was very scary because we didn t use a crosswalk. In the Philippines I ve always wanted to try a food called Dinuguan. Which is various parts of a pig such as the lungs, kidneys, heart and etc. in a soup of pig blood and other ingredients. The one I tasted didn t taste as amazing as everyone said and I didn t really like the taste so I was kind of disappointed. On our way to other places the car ride was very bumpy, I was sitting in the back. It was a lot of fun there because I could lie down if I wanted and you could get a lot of freedom also because no one wore seatbelts here.
Coron Pictures/Information about Coron The water in Coron is so beautiful. When swimming you can feel the cold water surrounding your legs. Just like swimming at a pool you still get water in your mouth which tastes salty here. When swimming you couldn t really smell or hear much. It was very peaceful and had not very many people around.
Leyte Pictures/Information about Leyte The smell of fresh bread in the morning always wakes me up, going to the beach is always a bumpy ride kind of like a roller coaster. The beach always has food and the food there is amazing! There s bananas which are sweet and taste a lot better than the ones here not to mention it s smaller so you could eat more. They have fresh coconuts too, that they harvest themselves. Its funny because when they go up to get them they make it look easy but its really hard and hurt your feet. When I m resting I shovel my feet into the sand which feels very nice and warm. Just resting in a hammock is relaxing, listening to the waves hitting the rocks and looking at the palm trees, above you. At night its beautiful looking at the sunset.
Bohol Pictures/Information about Bohol The feeling of being on top of a mountain with only your family there is great and theres not much sound so it s really peaceful, especially when you get an amazing view of the chocolate hills. You can t smell the chocolate from where we were (sadly) but when you buy freshly made chocolate called tablea its smells so good and so chocolaty like chocolate heaven. The tablea alone tastes really bitter though because it hasn t been sweetened. My grandma always makes hot chocolate from tablea which tastes really good. I miss the smell of tablea.
Manila Pictures/Information about Manila In Manila we went to an amazing buffet, their dessert section had a lot of yummy food. Like fondue, ice cream, a crepe bar and more. Looking at all the food, I couldn t wait to eat. You can hear and smell the food being made. All the food tasted great. We also went to Divisoria, a flea market in Manila. There were a lot of smokers so I couldn t stand being there for a long time.
Thank you! That was my trip to the Philippines!
