TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT/WORK CONTRACT Permanent This means that the job is permanent and doesn t have a set end date Fixed term This means the job is set to end at a certain date Full time This means that the hours of work are full time, in the UK this is usually 35+ hours a week Part time This means that the hours of work are part time, in the UK this can vary but is less than 35 hours a week Zero hour This means that the employer is not obliged to provide a minimum number of working hours The world of work | 4
