  3. We are learning to: Copy an image in the style of the artist Michael Craig- Martin. Understand how to use the visual elements of line, shape & tone. Learn how the artist uses these in his work. Develop observational drawing skills using simple shapes to try to show accurate representation. EXA: 1-03a / 2-03a / 3-03a EXA: 1-04a / 2-04a / 3-04a EXA: 1-05a / 2-05a EXA: 1-07a / 2-07a / 3-07a

  4. Success Criteria: I can choose an object for my artwork and draw this for at least 10 minutes. I can use my observational skills to create an observational drawing from a primary source. I can use simple shapes to help construct my drawing. I can self evaluate my work.

He is 79 years old. He creates contemporary images of everyday objects e.g. light bulbs. Click on the video link above to see his paintings.

  6. Michael Craig-Martin Project Hi folks please choose a task from the 3 below. You can do these in any order. It is okay if you only get 1-2 tasks completed. You can continue with the others next week. You can also choose to do the extension task first if you prefer.

  8. Task 1 Still Life Object 1. Choose one object from the list below 2. With pencil draw the outline & details of your object 3. Make your drawing the size of a sheet of A4 paper (big) 4. Add colours to the different sections/areas of your object 5. Use colour pencils or felt pens or a mix of both 6. Colour the background in one colour only 1. Mobile phone 2. ipad/laptop 3. TV remote 4. Clock or watch 5. A sneaker or shoe 6. Light bulb 7. Paper cup or mug 8. Glasses

  9. Task 2 Create a PowerPoint about the artist (or write on paper). Slide 1: put your name, class, date, artist s name (Michael Craig-Martin) Slide 2: Choose your favourite painting by the artist. Put the title & date of the artwork. Slide 3: Give 2 reasons why you like it (ideas why are on the next slide) Slide 4: Find facts about the artist.
