Science Our Journey The Suthers Science Curriculum is designed to: Equip students with a deep understanding of the world around them so that they can apply their knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios. Embed and apply knowledge and understanding of important scientific concepts, such as causeand effect , change , structure and function and explain why Promote the epistemic competencies that underpin science, such as; the ways of thinking, observation, interpretation, analysis and evaluation Celebrate the key moments in scientific history that have led to our understanding of the world today
Science 100% Exam at the end of Year 11 Triple Science Trilogy (Combined Science) 3 GCSEs at the end of the course (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) Wider range of topics More teaching hours as more content Each paper is 1 hour 45 minutes Leads into KS5 Sciences 2 GCSEs at the end of the course (Science) Narrower range of topics Less teaching hours as less content Each paper is 1 hour 15 minutes Leads into KS5 Sciences
