GOOD NEWS & FYIS Mary Wicklundwill be the new Volunteer Manager Professional, managing Master Gardener volunteers in Your and Cumberland counties. Dennis Harrington began his phased retirement on March 1st. He will be working time (M, T, W (1/2 days). Campus Climate Survey please take the time to complete it! March s Lunch & Learn will be on the 18thand it will be focused on PFAS and Extension s response. State of the University on 3/8 at 10:00 am both in person and on zoom. COVID #s continue to decrease, face covering guidance will be updated on 3/20. UMaine does have a lot of rapid tests available. CLAS/CE Native American Food Sovereignty position interviews this week. Ag Engineer candidates will be coming to visit campus in the next two weeks.
BUDGET UPDATE Please know, current positions are not in jeopardy Should know more about FY23 in the next few weeks The deficit is $22.44M for UMaine
STEERING COMMITTEE UPDATE Met on 2/28 with Dr. Lauri Baker from UF Focusing on the statewide needs assessment Would love your input in the process! There will be shared documents and opportunities to engage. Next meeting is March 21 at 10:00 a.m. We are tentatively planning on an all organizational meeting in November.
LEADERSHIP TRANSITION UPDATES Working on transitioning supervision from Dick to the three new .5 interim PAs. ELT meeting on 3/14 will be discussing county supervision and also prioritizing positions (in anticipation of learning our FY23 budget numbers). Weekly ELT check in calls on Monday mornings have been happening since January with the new group. It s a process we appreciate everyone s patience as we work through this all!
