  3. Early Years Talking Tuesday The aim of talking Tuesday is to spend one day a week supporting your child s communication and language skills which is fundamental in enabling your child to access the EYFS curriculum.

Week 2 Theme Feelings Core Text Talking Tuesday Personal, Social and Emotional Development Physical Development https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6wIEp- M4tg We will be learning the names of different feelings and ways to describe those feelings. As well as listening and responding to each other and asking each other questions and responding to others wishes Home Learning Talking about feelings. For fine motor skills we will be exploring how to draw and cut straight lines. This week we will explore moving in a highway and explore making high spaces using small and large apparatus. Please remember to send your child to school in their PE kit every Monday. Children should wear dark joggers or shorts, white t-shirt, trainers. Reading Phonics Writing Maths Explore words to describe different emotions in the book. For example, hot, rage for anger. Home Learning Use My little sound book to learn letter sounds. They will use their mark making skills to label the pictures using words like sad, happy, angry, calm. Home Learning Drawing and label a picture of the colour monster Home Learning Collect things and sorting them by colour. Subitise sets of colours and label by writing a number. Understanding of the world Expressive Arts and Design Reminders This week the children will respond to the artist Jackson Pollock and using poster paint to explore colour mixing, using a splatter technique. In music, they will use Sing-up to explore the theme I ve got a grumpy face . Book bags are to be sent into school everyday with the resources provided kept in the clear plastic wallets. For fine motor skills we will be exploring how to draw and cut squares. This week we will explore moving in a low way and explore making low spaces. This week we are learning the letters m,a,s,d. The children will draw a picture of something they like doing in school and label it using their phonic knowledge. This week, the children will be encouraged to quantify sets of objects by subitising, rather than counting. When subitising, children can say how many there are in a small group of objects by just seeing and knowing straightaway without needing to count. Language is a key focus and adults will model the language of more than and fewer than to describe how many objects there are in each set.
