  1. Happy Halloween!

  2. What is Halloween?

  3. Halloween is a Celtic holiday who celebrates the chasing of evil spirits.

  4. 'Haloween' (name) came from a Christian holiday.First, it was named 'Hallowe'en' and then HALLOWEEN.

  5. Legend Trick or Treat! The general practice of going from door to door for treats is clearly similar to a much older practice, "souling," in which the poor would go from house to house begging for alms or food.

  6. The first celebrations included "play parties," public events held to celebrate the harvest

  7. Bats Medieval folklore also described bats as witches' familiars, and seeing a bat on Halloween was considered to be quite an ominous sign

  8. One myth was that if a bat was spotted flying around one's house three times, it meant that someone in that house would soon die.

  9. Another myth was that if a bat flew into your house on Halloween, it was a sign that your house was haunted because ghosts had let the bat in.

  10. Cauldrons The pagan Celts believed that after death, all souls went into the crone's cauldron, which symbolized the Earth mother's womb.

  11. There, the souls awaited reincarnation, as the goddess' stirring allowed for new souls to enter the cauldron and old souls to be reborn.

  12. That image of the cauldron of life has now been replaced by the steaming, bubbling, ominous brew.

  13. Here was some Halloween information. I hope you enjoyed it! Happy Halloween to all of you!
