  3. I - Inclusive An inclusive educator... Includes and engages all students. According to the California Teacher Performance Expectations we can achieve this by welcoming all students and using routines and procedures that maximizes student engagement (2016). Establishes a sense of community in the classroom Understands the Universal Design of Learning and plans lessons that meet all of the students needs. 3

  4. N - Nurtures A teacher that nurtures . Encourages academic and personal growth Builds relationships with students and among students Offers positive reinforcement 4

  5. S - Structure A structured teacher... Creates and maintains an effective learning environment ( California Teaching Performance Expectations , 2016) Manages classroom policies and behaviour Presents the material in an organized and clear fashion 5

  10. D - Dedicated A dedicated teacher... Has an obligation to students and colleagues to remain motivated in the classroom and to continually develop and improve. Dedication is rooted in the hopefulness that each and every student can grow. Hopefulness means never giving up on any student. Practices mindfulness and builds meaningful relationships to ensure proactive development. 10
