  3. LO: To identify the features of an explanation text If a dragon wants to fly they first need to flap their wings. Dragons have very strong chest muscles and this enables them to flap their wings. When they flap their wings, the wings push down onto the air and as a result, the air pushes the dragon upwards. The harder the dragon pushes its wings, the further it will move upwards. Dragons wings come in all shapes and sizes. Some are spiky and some have smooth edges.

  5. LO: To identify the features of an explanation text Dragons often need to glide high in the sky to search for their next meal. Dragons can tilt their wings and even their individual scales. When dragons tilt their wings, the wings push down on the air which enables them to glide. If you look really carefully, you will often see a dragon flying without flapping their wings at all. They do not fall because they have their wings tilted.
