GENERATING TITLE REPORTS
What are norms? In FIDE tournaments, it is a requirement to generate title norm reports, both for arbiters and players The expectation is that the arbiter will be able to deal with these, and potentially present them to players at the tournament not some time later But first we must finish the tournament!

Have I got a norm or not? Scenario: Deepak Kumar Naik approaches you and asks what his norm chances are like. He is a IM seeking a GM norm. You can handle this by experimenting , without publishing results, but by putting in results for his game and seeing what the software says are his norms. The first trial should be for the player to lose the game, and then a draw and then a win.
Title Report Reports -> FIDE title info You can also get to this screen via Input -> Tournament Setup, and then clicking on the FIDE Title tab.

Title Report Naik will get a IM norm if he turns up and loses. Repeat this experiment with a draw for Naik and a win for Naik. Will a draw or a win be enough for a GM norm?
Title Report Naik will get a IM norm if he turns up and loses. Repeat this experiment with a draw for Naik and a win for Naik. Will a draw or a win be enough for a GM norm? A draw is still only good enough for a IM norm. A win is good enough for a GM norm. You can report this to Naik.
Other Media Requests If your tournament is prestigious, you might be asked to provide a list of such norm possibilities, so that the broadcasters can report on it if there is a norm. The way to do this is assign a white win in all of the games, and then generate the report. Repeat this process for draws and black wins, until you get a complete list of possible results to generate norms. This is not automated, and it requires the arbiter to do some of the manual work. Round 9 is now played!
Title Report Now that the tournament is over, generate the norm report.
Title Report Now that the tournament is over, generate the norm report. Two players achieved norms: Naik (GM), Ivanova (IM). Note that this means Ivanova also achieved a WGM norm, and she may wish to have that instead!
Norm Certificates Two types of certificate need to be exported 1. The IT1 player norm certificates for the players results 2. The IT3 form containing the statistics for the tournament In Reports -> FIDE Title Info, and then: 1. Add the name of the Federation Official, which is Davi Clayton. 2. Click on Create FIDE Title Excel File. This will generate the norm certificates in an Excel file.
IT3 Form Reports -> FIDE Tournament Report IT3 This will generate the IT3 form in Excel
Other Norm Information When these forms are generated, there may be other information that you need to fill in in order to complete them that is not captured by the software, such as Place of Birth on the IT1, and other personal information about the event on the IT3. The process for arbiter norms is the same, except you need to generate the FA1 or IA1 forms as appropriate. These can be found in the same dropdown menu.
