  1. FILMS THAT INFLUENCED ME GABRIELLE DUHANEY AICE MEDIA STUDIES

  2. ABDUCTION Abduction was one of the Films that influenced me, I liked the use of cool lighting rather than dim. And I like that the plot is not revealed in the very beginning, you kind of have to watch for a long time to understand. Even though the plot wasn t totally revealed, you could still understand who the main characters were and get a since of what was going to take place but at the same time you weren t exactly sure. The suspense is what I like.

  3. THE BOY NEXT DOOR The Boy Next Door is another film that influenced me, the flashbacks in the very beginning of the film allows the viewers to understand the reason she just moved into a new house. And the new house is the reason she met the boy next door. It is a good opening film, revealing the plot but not giving away the story. The development of the character importance was also good and executed well.

  4. THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR The Purge: Election Year was one of the films that did not quite influence me. The plot was given away with in the first few seconds of the film. There was no suspense, no thrill. The excitement was given away, there was no build up.

  5. CONVENTIONS All three films had the conventions of Dim lighting, Non diegetic sound in the beginning, a vulnerable victim, and a crazy killer. I will use these conventions because I feel as though they are a key part of the genre I have choose to film.
