Final GFAN Call of 2020 8 December 2020
AGENDA 1) Update from the GFAN Secretariat on our search for a permanent host. 2) A look at the political change in the US and what that might mean for 2021. 3) Latest information and updates on the Global Fund s Strategy Development process what the CRG platforms have been working on, latest news we have on civil society pre-meetings and the Partnership Forums.
Finding GFANs Finding GFAN s New Home New Home Process validated by GFAN Steering Committee, NVF and NVF for GFA Technical partners (November 2020) Creation of an Interim Advisory Committee (early December 2020) Launch of a public Request for Proposals process (mid-December 2020) Selection of a new host (end of February 2021) Begin new hosting arrangement (mid-April 2021) International Civil Society Support (ICSS) where the GFAN Secretariat has been hosted since its founding, is closing its doors at the end of 2020. GFAN has been in a temporary bridging mechanism at the New Venture Fund (US based 501c charity) since October NVF has been GFAN s main funder since 2014 via the New Venture Fund for Global Fund Advocacy NVF for GFA has prioritized sufficient funding for GFAN to maintain its current level of work through August 2023 once GFAN is once again headquartered at a new host (pending application and approval)
2020 Q3 (by end of December) Strategy & Governance: Finalize strategy and Governance Proposition and build internal tools such as our MLE indicators and tracking Host: Select interim Advisory Committee and launch public request for proposals 2021 Q1 (January March) Host: Select a new host organization for GFAN and begin process of negotiating agreement with new host & integrating all aspects of work, including governance Strategy & Governance: Publish new GFAN strategy 2021 Q2 (April June) Strategy & Governance: Launch new Governance body for GFAN with broader representation of our membership Hosting: Finalize arrangements with new host and apply for funding for 2021-2023
