  2. Stewardship Stewardship is the act of managing and utilizing the resources and gifts that God supplies. One-tenth of everything from the land, whether grain or fruit, belongs to YHWH and is holy. (Leviticus 27:30) Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. (1 Peter 4:10)

  3. Tithes & Offerings Local congregations collect tithes and offerings weekly as an act of worship. The monies collected support the ministry of the church. Budgets, which are both a financial document and a reflection of our values, are established based on tithes and offerings anticipated and received.

  4. Assessments & Board of Pensions MCC churches make monthly Assessment payments to the denomination. The amount due is 10% of the church s eligible income. Assessments support the global work of UFMCC. UFMCC Board of Pensions is the steward of these pension funds, which support our clergy. Churches in the United States make quarterly payments at a per member rate.

  5. Board of Directors The Board of Directors, which includes the pastor, is elected and authorized to provide spiritual and administrative leadership in the local church. They are stewards of the church s resources and assets. Collectively, they develop the budget and present it to the church membership for approval.

  6. Treasurer The ministry of the treasurer, especially, is one of Stewardship that is, managing, safeguarding, and maintaining the financial resources entrusted to the church by the congregation and others to carry out its mission and vision.
