  4. The Five Pillars of Islam Islam is like a house held up by five strong pillars with central themes of living a good life and sharing with others. Fasting Sawm Prayer Salah Charity Zakah Belief Shahadah Pilgrimage Hajj

  5. 1: Shahadah The declaration of faith This Pillar is believing and saying the words: There is no god except Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah .

  6. 2: Salah Pray 5 times a day: DAWN/SUNRISE NOON MIDAFTERNOON SUNSET EVENING

  7. 3: Zakah Give a proportion of earnings to charity.

  8. 4: Sawm Sawm is fasting: not eating or drinking for a month between sunrise and sunset.
