STORIES Water from south fields, Uphill, formed a small creek getting under our cabin, our new home, flooding bathroom, bedroom and living area, a few inches. Water covered our septic system and drove sewage up and into our toilet and bath/shower $5,000 Rainwaters washed away a substantial portion of a hillside at our home. The multiple tons of material slid off the hillside, burying the yard below and exposing water and electrical lines to our well. It also left two very large, tall trees without any earth below their root balls. The trees were described by multiple tree care professionals as an 'emergency situation' and a clear danger to the nearby mother-in-law apartment $2,500 Water came down our driveway along with several tons of gravel. Water and mud came into every room in the house. 10 inches of water and gravel in the entryway and shop. Freezer ruined along with workshop tools. Trying to dry out the 2 rooms with wall to wall carpeting. Don t know if the carpets will have to be replaced. Black mold could be another problem. $5,000 My basement was flooded twice, I had to hire a handyman to pull the wet stuff out & take to the dump, and dig trenches for the run off. Then hired a contractor to dig new trenches and install drain pipes and gravel .At 93 it was very distressing to lose many of my belongings. And I have worried that it will happen again . My caregivers have also spent time on the clean up instead of helping me with my ADL s. (Not yet reviewed by committee)
NEXT STEPS Continue Discuss Address Determine Modify Continue with application review At next FRAT meeting discuss if awards should be increased, especially the $10K max award Address whether the funds should extend to the house fires Determine if additional funds need to be granted to OCRC Review and modify process as the applications continue or taper
