Biography My name is Darryl Ruiz and I'm an Iraqi Freedom Veteran majoring in paralegal studies at New York College of Technology. I grew an interest on the topic of food insecurity after conducting a research project for an English course. After learning about the severity of food insecurity especially in the United States I realize that this information is imperative to know. My goal by initiating this blog is to spread the word about these alarming facts and what it is that contributes to this disparity in our modern society.
Mission Statement Our goal at with this blog is to heighten the awareness of food insecurity across the world starting here with this blog. Food insecurity became an interest of mine after learning its cause and effects while conducting an English project. Upon completing several weeks of research on blogs addressing food insecurity I imagine ourselves integrating what we already know with what we just learned. By establishing a blog we can keep the public updated to our progress, challenges, and achievement in our fight against hunger in the world. With the progress made in the past year addressing food insecurity, we would like to repeat that success by expanding our audience and producing a successful blog where people s food insecurity awareness would grow. In order for us to be effective, we must always keep in mind our purpose, our plan, and those millions of people who are considered food insecure.
What you would find A typical post on my blog would consist of relevant information that contributes to the expansion of food insecurity awareness. In addition to the expansion of my audience I will also address secondary issues that stem from food insecurity like obesity, diabetes, and other health factors.
