Christmas Newsletter from FORCE 2019
2019 has been a great year for FORCE. We have had 15 lunch and learns and 9 seminars (1-2 days). A total of 24 events. Since 2016 the number of events has stabilized between 20-24 per year. In total there has been 1408 participants attending FORCE seminars in 2019. That is amazing. Among all the seminars we will highlight two major seminars this year. Hackathon was held for the second time. The subject choice for this year's Hackathon was Applied Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics with Oil and Gas Data. It was fully booked with a waiting list. Well done to the organizing committee. The 50-year celebration at Atlantic Hall was a great success. Two days to celebrate the industry and the participants ranged from the retired to young students. Both events had over 200 participants. We are so grateful to our members who has worked so hard to organize seminars this year. The FORCE secretariat wishes you a happy Christmas and we are looking forward to working with our members in 2020.
HAPPY HOLYDAYS FROM TC-IE The FORCE Improved Exploration TC would like to thank all our members for their valuable contributions and engaged participation during 2019 which contributed to another successful year in FORCE. Together with the network groups geophysics, sed/strat, structure and petroleum systems - Improved Exploration has in 2019 hosted a wide range of seminars, lunch & learns and field trips, bringing together FORCE members for sharing and learning. In addition we have had several project proposals presented to the members of FORCE. All to the benefit of our industry and the NCS. 2020 plans are already in place; the new year kicking off with the Petroleum Systems network group s first seminar focusing on furthering our understanding of petroleum charge and migration (please see https://www.npd.no/en/force/events/petroleum- charge-and-migration/). As the 2019 is nearing the end and the new year is hovering behind the horizon, we would like to particularly thank those who have stepped up and arranged the various events that we happily attend - without you no FORCE. We also would like to thank TC Improved Recovery for good collaboration, the FORCE MC and the FORCE secretariat for valuable support and serving as host for our events. Improved Exploration wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Holiday wishes from the Improved Oil and Gas Recovery group A new FORCE year has passed, and it is encouraging so see the network groups working hard to organise seminars and lunch and learns. Each network group has members from 13 to 17 different oil companies, that give valuable contributions to FORCE with skilled event committees and very good presenters! This is a real Dugnad that we all can benefit from and is highly appreciated! It is specifically promising to see the high activity level in the Carbonate and Chalk network group, that came as a newcomer last year, with two L&L, in addition to one seminar. The enthusiasm in the group and good planning has given them great result! The joint Improved exploration and IOGR event, the 50 years oil discovery anniversary seminar, was a great success, with a lot of learnings back to the industry. Two of the learnings given was to have fun and to have an early understanding of the key challenges. This advice is not only useful for the industry, but also for FORCE! All together, we have high expectations for 2020 to be innovative, integrated and enthusiastic! From the TC IOGR group we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
