  1. [Based on Matthew 6:9-13] Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

  2. And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, The Power and The Glory forever. Amen.

  3. Forgiveness is cancelling a debt owed in order to receive God s greater healing and future

  4. Clinging to unforgiveness will cancel God s new freedom in your life. Matthew 18:21-53

  5. the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents ($3.48 billion) was brought to him. - Matthew 18:23-24

  6. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. The servant fell on his knees before him. Be patient with me, he begged, and I will pay back everything. - Matthew 18:25-26

  7. The servants master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. - Matthew 18:27

  8. But when that forgiven servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii ($5,800). He grabbed him and began to choke him. Pay back what you owe me! he demanded. - Matthew 18:28

  9. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, Be patient with me, and I will pay you back. But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. - Matthew 18:29-30

  10. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened. Then the master called the servant in. You wicked servant, he said - Matthew 18:31-32a

  11. Icanceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you? In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. - Matthew 18:32b-34

  12. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart. - Matthew 18:35

  13. We follow Jesus together in forgiving others because . . . 1. Unforgiveness is a trap.

  14. In our pain, Satan offers us unforgiveness to close us off from being hurt again. Instead, we are closed off to God s healing and the future God has for us.

  15. It treats our offenders as god instead of people blinded and manipulated by the god of this world. You can t follow Jesus and bitterness.

  16. We follow Jesus together in forgiving others because . . . 1. Unforgiveness is a trap. 2. Forgiveness is a miracle.

  17. Jesus replied, I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. - John 8:34-36

  24. Who owes you? Will follow them or Jesus? Will you cancel their debt so you can accept the riches of Christ? Will you take the next step with Jesus?
