Reasons for the decision, and the process of discernment and consultation which led to the decision; 3. Minutes of the ISMAPNG general council meeting approving the petition; 4. Draft Statutes of Mercy Ministry Companions; 5. Civil constitutions of Mercy Ministry Companions Ltd; 6. The vota indicating the consent of Archbishops and Bishops; 7. Attestation from an independent expert that the Institute will be financially secure and will not suffer privation from the properties being transferred; 8. A list of the properties, their technical descriptions and approximate values; and 9. A summary of the formation policies and programs which will support the canonical leaders and executives of the new entity.

  6. Summary of Formation Process Part 1: Content Governance Formation Schema graphic identifies four dimensions: 1. The Theological component; 2. the charism of Mercy; 3. Civil governance; and 4. the Ministry-Specific Culture and Context. Part 2: Structure The MPJP will ensure priority is given to governance formation by appointing a Governance Formation Coordinator; The Governance Formation Coordinator is supported by an Expert Committee; Trustees are also able to draw on the expertise of a Mission and Ministry Governance Coordinator; and Each ministry or division within the MPJP has a designated person or a small team with responsibility for mission and ongoing formation.

  7. Summary of Formation Process Part 3: Processes Key processes are: 1. The Governance FormationSchema provides the framework for ongoing planning, delivery and evaluation of formation offerings; 2. An annual Ministry Governance Forum; and 3. Information programs and formation opportunities are provided for prospective Trustees and Directors Part 4: Policy and procedures Key policies and procedures are: 1. The Board of Trustees and the Board of each ministry has a policy for ongoing formation; 2. Mercy Ministry Companions and each ministry or division will incorporate ongoing governance formation within its own Strategic Plan; 3. There is a formation component included in each meeting; and 4. Allocated financial and other resources for ongoing governance formation.

  8. Summary of Formation Process The four part Formation Process provides a comprehensive overview of the approach to governance formation being taken within Mercy Ministry Companions. The four part Formation Process will be regularly reviewed and enhanced through the provision of appropriate resources for each Dimension of the Governance Formation Schema and through the delivery of ongoing formation programs suitable for adult learners. General advice from Sr Mary Wright IBVM: 1. Formation: holistic, ongoing formation for the Trustees, boards and executives; 2. Good communication with local dioceses, parishes, the Institute, etc; 3. Clarity about Catholic identity in public statements and actions; and 4. External reviews of the Trustees, the ministry Boards and the executives on a regular basis.
