Terminology Definition following FitSM-0: Service catalogue: User/customer facing list of all live services offered along with relevant information about these services Definition following FitSM-0: Service level agreement (SLA): Documented agreement between a customer and service provider that specifies the service to be provided and the service targets that define how it will be provided Definition following FitSM-0: Operational level agreement (OLA) Agreement between a service provider or federation member and another part of the service provider s organisation or the federation to provide a service component or subsidiary service needed to allow provision of services to customers Definition following FitSM-0: Underpinning agreement (UA) Documented agreement between a service provider and an external supplier that specifies the underpinning service(s) or service component(s) to be provided by the supplier, and the service targets that define how it will be provided Note: A UA can be seen as a service level agreement (SLA) with an external supplier 3/20/2025 2
Motivation Create a reliable, trust-based communication channel between the researchers and the providers to agree on the services, their levels and the types of support Benefits for research communities: Better communication and clarity on expectations Increased confidence that services will be delivered Easier future planning of research activities Benefits for resource providers: Direct communication with user communities and clarity on expectations Clear responsibilities and rules/policies concerning usage of the resources Recognition and greater visibility to role of the provider by requiring an explicit acknowledgment Benefits for EGI: Promoting the EGI service value with funding agencies and policy makers at national and European level Being seen as mature partner Ensuring a foundation of a control process to what is being delivered in the EGI Federation 3/20/2025 3

Phase 2 Marketplace To be part of EG Marketplace Providers will have meet EGI requirements EGI Marketplace UA to be established Supported granted (e.g. via GGUS) Minimum availability/reliability Compliance to security policies and general EU regulations Acknowledgement to EGI in on-line services Provider will be responsible for providing the thematic solutions EGI may provide service components (like computing, storage), through an SLA (the VO SLA) 3/20/2025 7
