Vocabulary of classes -Notice that the verb d ner (to eat) is used here with the preposition avec (with): Roselyne d ne avec Andr . -Some verbs require the preposition . This is the case for what we call verbs of movement: rentrer (to return), arriver (to arrive), assister (to attend), and aller (to go). -The verb t l phoner also requires the preposition .
More pronunciation and vocabulary -Do you know the difference between the following words?: soir/ soir e jour/ journ e matin/matin e The second word implies the whole evening, day or morning: Ex. Hier, J'ai danc toute la soir e (Yesterday, I danced the whole evening)
Dates in French -In French, for full dates you need the article LE : Le quatre juillet 1985 or le jeudi vingt-trois -By the way, days of the week and months are not capitalized in French. -Dates are written in this way: 4/7/1985 (The day first, then the month and the year) -For now, you only need to know the days of the week.
