  1. Introduction to FTC 2020-2021 Season

  2. What is FTC? First Tech Challenge is a worldwide competition where teams from schools everywhere compete with a custom robot for victory in a series of challenges.

  3. Why Join FTC? FTC is a fun and exciting experience that teaches many valuable real life skills. Engineering skills can help you your whole life, especially if your goal is a career in STEM. Not only the educational experience, but learning to work with a variety of people and collaborate to accomplish a common goal will help you in your life no matter what you puruse

  4. How Can I Fit This Into My Schedule? Meetings every Thursday and Tuesday Weekend dates are possible Flexible scheduling possible Meetings vary in time from one and half hours to three We can flexible if we come together as a team to work out when works best for everyone. Most of us participate in daily sports and still have time. It s all about time management!

  5. Will I have Homework? This question is very dependent on the team. If work is being accomplished on time and well you will have much less work outside of meetings.

  6. What will I be doing on the team We have many positions that you can fill that vary in objectives. We categorize these under Build, Business, and Programming. Build team is more on the mechanical side and is more physical. Build team is in charge of assembling the parts we need. Business involves things such as Outreach, Communications, and Finance. Programming is in charge of creating the code to run our robot during the various stages of a match As a member of this team you will be involved in all aspects.

  7. Who is There to Assist Us? Our team currently has two mentors that have been with us for varying amounts of time. Mentors are there to facilitate things like scheduling and keeping the team in check. They can also help in certain areas like build, code, and business. While mentors are more hands off, they can still help with discussion and things already decided by the team.

  8. Finance Money is sourced through our FRC team We can also do independent fundraising if needed We must operate within our budget and considerate when ordering parts or registering up for competitions.
