  1. Supports and Funding Opportunities for Community Groups Collette Fahey, Administrative Officer, Community & Integrated Development , Mayo Co Council.

General information on funding schemes All announcements for funding schemes are made by the Relevant Government Department The Local Authorities are not give previous notice of these launches Once the scheme is open for Expressions of interest / applications, they are advertised in the local papers, on Mayo.ie and through the PPN All scheme guidelines are also on Mayo.ie The PPN periodically organise training sessions for applying for community funding which have, to date, received very positive feedback The closing date is strictly adhered to so it is important to start the application process early

  3. Making the Application Consult Platform Applications for all schemes administered by our team are via the Consult Platform Organisations or individuals can set up an account which is then used for all future applications All Previous applications made by the Group / Individual are saved on Consult A closing date and time is set on each scheme and no application can be accepted once this has passed

  4. Funding administered through the Community & Integrated Development Section There are a number of Community funding schemes which are launched by Government Departments and are administered through the Community section in Mayo County Council, including CL R Towns & Villages renewal scheme (TVRS) Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) We are also responsible for administering the Oweninny Community Benefit fund and the LEADER Programme

Funding administered through the Community & Integrated Development Section CL R 2025 Scheme Announced on the 4thApril, by Minister Dara Calleary Measure 1, Developing Community Facilities and Amenities is currently open for applications, closing at 3pm on Thursday 8thMay, 2025 Scheme guidelines and application can be found at Mayo.ie/apply Also shows a map of Electoral Division (Eds) areas which are eligible to apply Mayo County Council can submit; 14 applications of between 5,000 & 65,000 (one must be for a Gaeltacht area) 2 applications of between 5,000 & 100,000

Funding administered through the Community & Integrated Development Section Town & Village Renewal Scheme 2025 Announced on the 19thMarch, by Minister Dara Calleary The Community funding section is currently working on the application and it is hoped this will be live on the consult platform within the next week Mayo County Council can submit; Project Development Measure (PDM) 2 projects up to 50,000 Main scheme 1 project up to 500,000 4 projects up to 300,000 (1 must be in a Gaeltacht area)

Funding administered through the Community & Integrated Development Section Local Enhancement Programme 2025 Announced November 2024 Under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025, Mayo LCDC received funding of 217,742.00, plus a surplus from LEP Capital 2024 of 25,000.44 There were 3 categories Cat.1 - current expenditure of up 500, Cat.2 - capital, up to 1,000 Cat.3 - capital 1,000 - 2,000 322 applications were received All categories were oversubscribed, with the LCDC submitting recommendation based on their evaluation We are anticipating an announcement for successful applicants in May 25

Funding administered through the Community & Integrated Development Section Oweninny Community Benefit Fund A Community Benefit Fund was established as a condition of the Planning application for the wind farm developed at Oweninny, Bellacorrick There are 2 application schemes run each year. One scheme for the Oweninny Target Area and the second smaller scheme is for the rest of the county A key criteria is that applicant groups are registered with Mayo PPN Applications for 2025 are expected to open in September for Categories 1,2,3 (target area) and for Category 4 (rest of county)

LEADER Programme 2023-2027 Mayo Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) have signed the funding agreement with the Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht for the delivery of the new LEADER programme Budget of 6.6 million for projects from 2024 to 2027 This is a much reduced budget in comparison to the last LEADER Programme The LCDC is currently working with its Partners on the administrative set up for the new programme South West Mayo Development Company CLG will cover the South and West of the County Mayo North East Partnership Company with additional support through Moy Valley Resources will cover the North & East of the County Comhar na nOile n will cover the Mayo Islands It is hoped that the Partners will be in a position to take Expressions of Interest from applicants later this summer.
