The Purpose of Futures Unlimited An accelerated program that meets Illinois requirements for graduation Enables students to earn a High School Diploma from their home district Helps resolve tardy and attendance concerns Prep for life beyond high school by completing social skills training and career planning

  5. Benefits of attending Futures Unlimited 18 credits to graduate as determined by the state of Illinois Students will earn 2 credits per quarter Smaller class sizes If any questions please contact the Academic Counselor, Lisa Barrows

  6. Dress Code: Student On top, school appropriate shirt of any color which does not display offensive words, symbols or references to drugs, alcohol, weapons, gangs, violence or sex. On the bottom, any jean or khakis pants with no holes/no skin showing, belt when necessary. Attendance Policy: Student must be in attendance. On the 3rd absence for ANY reason, a letter will be sent home. 5th absence for ANY reason will result in parent conference and an attendance contract. Futures Unlimited does understand the current situation with COVID 19 policies and regulations. Each attendance case will be looked at on an individual basis. Responsibilities

  7. Work in class: failure to complete work in class is not acceptable, student could be returned back to the home district. Students will be assigned an AM or PM report time to attend for in-person learning, the remainder will be distance learning. Distance Learning: Students will be asked to complete distance learning assignments for the remainder of the school day to receive credit. The student will receive approximately 20 minutes of work per class. Each teacher will have a way of communication during this time. Student Responsibilities

Parent Responsibilities Parents are asked to attend parent/teacher conferences each quarter Check child s wellness prior to leaving the home, any symptoms please keep child at home and contact the school. Help monitor student s progress Provide and manage transportation for the student: attendance and punctuality are important If the student will be absent: Parent must call the student in for it to be an excused absence Please make sure to give the most up-to-date address and phone number Registration Cost: $25.00, please see Cathy Having (217-362-3080) if there are questions

  9. Administration have assigned the students to an AM or PM in-person schedule. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE! AM Classes: 8:00am-10:40am PM Classes: 11:20 am-2:00 pm Distance Learning: 20 minutes of work will be assigned to the students per class. Students will also receive work for a Social Emotional class (5th period). Students will receive full schedule on the 1ST ATTENDANCE DAY. The student handbook will be discussed in detail on the first day of attendance. Behavior, attendance and distance learning will be discussed in further detail on that day also. 2020/2021 School Year

  10. 2020/2021 School Year Weather Days: Snow or Temperature days will be announced on the school s Facebook and App (form to be picked up at registration) Parking: students are allowed to drive but MUST park in the open lot on the corner of Cerro Gordo St. and Water St. No parking in staff lot off Jefferson St, thank you! Our building is secure: locked doors, security cameras and a security guard. Student and Staff safety are priorities! Academic probation: students must pass 3 out of 4 classes to stay off academic probation. Cell phones are allowed but the student must follow the classroom expectations that are posted outside each classroom door. Cont.

  11. Policies & Guidelines Please make sure to follow IDPH, ISBE and the CDC guidelines when entering the building. Signs will be posted at the entrance and throughout the building. Masks must be worn by ALL while in the building. Temperature checks will be conducted upon entrance. Students will be sent home if ANY one symptom is displayed of COVID 19. (More information at Registration) Directional signs will be placed around the building, please follow. Please stay 6 feet apart at all times. 2020/2021 School Year
