VOCATIONAL CALLING A vocation is a a strong impulse or inclination to follow a particular activity or career and a divine call to God s service or to Christian life A deep passion or desire to help in a certain area So far my vocational calling is to be a Nurse
WHO WAS GAYLE SMITH? Nicknamed the nurse with round eyes A United States Army Nurse during the time of the Vietnam War Stationed in Binh Thuy, South Vietnam Was very against the war and decided to join the Army Nurse Corps to help bring the men back
USING HER VOCATIONAL CALLING Gayle Smith used her ability to help people, even though the situation was not ideal She was against young men wasting their lives in war Did what she felt that she could do to make a difference You don t have to change the world to change someone s life
