Comprehensive Academic Plan & GECCo Charge CAP Core Value 1 Strategic Goal: To strengthen and support the work of faculty and students as the center of teaching and learning at Ramapo, based on faculty expertise and actively unlocking the potential of instruction and mentoring. Objective 1.C.: Update General Education program, including courses, category outcomes and course alignment within each category to align with the vision of the CAP. GE Revision GECCo charged by FA with guiding GE Revision. Full implementation scheduled for Fall 2027.

Updates on Recurring Issues Issue: Staffing GECCo & Vacancies 17 Members! 15 Voting Members: Directors (FYS, CRWT, SSI, SIAH), Coordinators (HP, GA, QR, SR, CC, SSS & VE), Library Rep, At-large reps 2 Non Voting Members: Vice Provost, Director of Academic Assessment GA is vacant Balancing consistent core with new perspectives Issue: Not Enough Assignments For Assessment & Assignments Unrelated To GE Outcomes And Unmet Targets GE Instructors will submit students products for assessment & associated assignments
Updates on Recurring Issues Issue: GE Program & Assessment Results May Not Be Widely Known Recent assessment reports posted to GECCo website soon Issue: Incomplete Curriculum Assessment Teams (CAT) Delays Assessment Dean s & GECCo asked for CAT volunteers in the fall. 5 faculty volunteered Issue: GE & Ramapo First Year Experience Potential Mismatch with Mission FYS, CRWT, SSI, & SIAH Heavily Adjuncted Fall 2023 - 69% of these courses taught by adjuncts FYS = 60% adjunct SIAH = 71% adjunct (this does not include Honors sections) SSI = 78% adjunct Fall 24: 68% of these courses taught by adjuncts FYS = 59% SIAH = 68% SSI = 71% Issue: Transfer Difficulties
GECCos Next Steps GECCo will review its primary tasks (assessment & course review) and make revisions accordingly Form a revision task force comprised of GECCo members and other stakeholders Faculty & Staff: participate in the revision process by sharing ideas & thoughts about GE Setting up town hall-like forums to discuss GE revision Survey s
