Gendered Impact of Climate Change on Vulnerable Communities
Climate change disproportionately affects women due to changes in natural resources, leading to decreased productivity and impact on wellbeing. Extinction of species, disruption of symbiotic relationships, and labor-intensive adaptation measures further challenge women's resilience. Loss of agro-biodiversity and traditional medicine options exacerbates vulnerabilities to extreme weather events.

Gendered Impact of Climate Change Changes in the quantity and quality of natural resources could reduce the productivity of ecosystems Decrease in forest resources used by rural women who collect them and use as fuel, fodder, food or medicines. Result will be negative impact on wellbeing and quality of life for them and their families
Gendered Impact of Climate Change Extinction of species, changes in species composition, disruption of symbiotic relationships, changes in trophic cascdes, etc. Without secure access to and control over natural resources (land, water, livestock, trees) women are less able to cope. Adaptation measures often labour intensive and women face increasing expectations to contribute unpaid hh and community labour to soil and water conservation efforts

Gendered Impact of Climate Change Women often rely on a range of crop varieties to accommodate climatic variability but permanent temperature change will reduce agro-biodiversity and traditional medicine options Floods, droughts, rising sea levels, melting of glaciers and polar icecaps
