FALL SEASON TIMELINE Schedules published 8/30 (Teams must be paid up to receive schedule) First Games Saturday, 9/11 Roster Lock Date 9/27 Regular Season ends 10/30 End of Season Tournament 11/6 11/14 For 1stGrade through 7/8thGrades All Tournament info will be posted to the PSA Website Football page approximately one week before the tournament starts. Tournament will not be on DASH Awards for 1stand 2ndPlace Participation Trophy for Kinder Submit Game Scores and Referee Evaluations within 24 hours. Both teams submit.
COACH PRE-SEASON CHECKLIST All Coaches must have a current cleared Background Check and Valid ID Badge Complete Coaches Application and sign up to schedule coaches' badge on: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080d4ba9af28a0f94-coach Your team should be fully paid Login to DASH and check rosters for payments - send email to players who have not paid Each player on the roster is responsible for individual registration fee Your DASH roster should be complete and accurate Drop any players who are not playing this season Teams will be allowed to add players through 9/27 - must have DASH account to be added Roster locked on 9/27 (No exceptions) Coaches should know the following documents and educate your parents Coach s Code of Conduct Updated COVID-19 Protocols Effective Fall Season Flag Football Rules
UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Indoor Flag Football Players must wear PSA league issued flags with no rolling up at the top. Teams may NOT use substitute flags Mouthpieces are mandatory Turf or tennis shoes only, no cleats or metal spikes Matching jerseys with numbers on the back If both teams show up in the same color jersey the home team must put on pennies or alternate jersey PSA Provides Game Ball, if both teams agree to their own ball they can be used
GAME SCHEDULING 8 game season plus Single Elimination Post Season Tournament Most games on Saturday PM and some Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings Games will be played at PSA1, PSA2, PSA McKinney and PSA Murphy Each team has at least 4 home games We will make best effort to honor conflict requests submitted through the coach's tools Reschedules and forfeits cost money; Supervisors, game assignors, and officials. Try Game Swap process first No-shows are disrespectful to your opponents as well as all others who are associated with the logistics of organizing and scheduling games. Game Reschedule Fee - $25 prepaid before game is rescheduled Game Forfeit - $0 if communicated via email to football@psaplano.org 48 hours prior to game-time Game No Show Fee - $70 paid before team plays next game
GAME DAY REMINDERS Indoor Flag Football All coaches on the bench must have valid coaches' badge and must be always visible Maximum 3 badged coaches are allowed to participate on the turf/in the bench area during games. Coaches must be listed on the DASH Roster Players must all be listed on the DASH Roster. Games will begin on time no warm-up time is allocated between games Referees are provided Game ball is provided by PSA unless both teams agree before the game to use their own. Players must be off the playing field before substitutes can enter play. Enter at Midfield. Players must enter / exit the bench through the doors. NO jumping over the boards
PLAYING RULES Every Coach should print out and read up (refresh) on the rules before their first games. All rules have been reinstated per the rule book including mouth guards Players must be visible on the DASH roster. Drop dead date for adding players to your roster is 9/27 Illegal players will not be allowed or tolerated Players are allowed to play up a grade level, but NEVER down Referees reserve the right to abandon a game upon the discovery of an illegal player Should a coach be found guilty of fielding an illegal player, he/she will be asked to meet with the Flag Football Board to determine consequences for the remainder of the season.
PSA INDOOR SPORTS PROTOCOL REQUIREMENTS Effective for the Fall 2021 Season Coaches, please communicate to your Parents Coaches, please communicate to your Parents Face Masks Must be worn at all times while inside our facilities. Social Distancing is not a substitute for masks. Face Masks are not required by Players, Coaches, and Game Officials when on the turf, warm-up areas, and benches. Social Distance of 6 feet must be observed at all times except on the field of play. 2 spectators per player are allowed into the facility per game. No spectators for practices. This Protocol applies to all Players, Coaches, Parents, Spectators and Game Officials and applies to all PSA Youth Outdoor Sports programs including Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball and Basketball. Facilities include PSA1, PSA2, PSA Murphy and PSA McKinney.
PSA INDOOR SPORTS PROTOCOL REQUIREMENTS Effective for the Fall 2021 Season Coaches, please communicate to your Parents Coaches, please communicate to your Parents Programing and Activities will be monitored. Non-compliance could result in a series of penalties and sanctions. Your cooperation is essential to promote safety to all participants involved with PSA programs. If anyone is uncomfortable or unable to comply with the Safety Protocol requirements, then we request for you to not attend the programs or events. Penalties for failure to wear face masks as defined or practice social distancing are as follows: Step one: Warning to the Team Coach Step two: Second warning to the team coach and possible removal from the game in progress or the next game. Step three: Suspension of the Team Coach Step four: Suspension of the Team Penalties for person not affiliated with the teams such as game officials, administrators, and all other attendees are as follows: Step one: Warning Step two: Issuance of criminal trespass warning Step three: Criminal trespass / ejection from the facility
Good Sportsmanship Everyones Responsibility Coaches Code of Conduct (click HEREfor full document) COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES TO PLAYERS - The coach must never place the value of winning over the safety and welfare of players. Winning should be the result of preparation and discipline with emphasis placed on the highest ideals and character traits. At no time will a Coach or Volunteer demean, degrade or humiliate any player, parent, spectator, official, team or other coach or volunteer on any social media forum. COACHES RESPONSIBILITY TO OFFICIALS (REFEREES) Officials must have the support of coaches, players and spectators. Criticism of officials undermines their purpose in the game. Coaches must always refrain from criticizing officials in the presence of players, parents, and spectators. COACHES GAME DAY AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES A coach s behavior must be such as to bring credit to themselves, his organization (team), and the sport. Coaches shall be responsible for Parent and Spectators conduct. Coaches should use their positive influence on parents and spectators. COACHES ARE RESPONSIBILE TO KNOW AND PROMOTE THE RULES OF THE GAME COACHES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO SCOUT AND RECRUIT RESPONSIBILITY TO PSA AND MEMBER AFFILATIONS - At no time will a coach or volunteer argue, abuse, threaten or demean any official, other coach, parent, spectator, League Officials, or any PSA Staff Member A Coach s failure to follow the Code of Conduct is subject to immediate suspension from all PSA Activities
