This study explores genetic trends in production traits of US Holstein cattle using single-step GBLUP and traditional BLUP methods. It discusses biases in traditional PTAs and the potential of single-step GBLUP to account for pre-selection in genetic trends analysis. The data covers a significant number of records, genotypes, and pedigrees from 1990 to 2015. Model details, inbreeding effects, and relationship matrices for genetic evaluation are also included.
