Grants Statement of Purpose The Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) makes funds available to fulfill its mission in accordance with the DD Act and its Five-Year Strategic Plan (pdf file). Through its funding, GCDD works to increase the capacities and resources of public, private, and nonprofit entities to develop a comprehensive community system that responds to the choices, capabilities and needs of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The purpose of GCDD grants are to expand best practices and contribute to system-wide changes that support the rights of people with developmental disabilities and their full inclusion as community members. Recipients of GCDD grants are expected to be ongoing partners bringing about change.

  4. Implementing our plan! Each year, the Council awards grant funding to projects across Georgia. Our programs and grants management team assists grantees in ensuring the success of their projects while also overseeing project performance, administration, and compliance.

Improves communication internally and externally, as well as promotes improved teamwork. DD Suites Program is designed to help Councils collect, monitor, and manage outcome data from Council grants and activities. Offers fiscal reporting information and linkage. What is DD Suite?

  8. The Application Process Before an applicant can apply for a grant, he or she must have an account in the DD Suite system. Go to www.ddsuite.org . Click the link in the upper right-hand corner that says, Sign UP . Upon a user s first log-on to DD Suite, they will be prompted to join an organization. Once the user locates a project they wish to apply for, click the Details link to the right of the project. The DD Suite will provide a more detailed description of the project, including the application due date, the project dates, the federal funding amount and required matching amount, the Council staff responsible for the project, a description of the project, a description of the minimum requirements, and important attachments. The application is made up of eight (8) different parts, as identified in tabs listed under the name of the proposal: Applicant Information, People, Outline (6 questions), Budget, Objectives, Activities, Performance Measures, and Attachments.

  9. Using the Solicitation Evaluation Form, members will identify the most critical factors contributing to the value or success of the proposed solutions to the issues identified. Among the criteria used are the following: 1. Does the outline clearly state goals and major activities? 2. Is applicant qualified or experienced to complete the goals and activities? 3. Does the application satisfactorily describe the impact of activities of the project will have on people with developmental disabilities? The Evaluation Process 4. Is each required goal and outcome addressed? Are the goals and outcomes satisfactory? 5. Does the application adequately describe who will be responsible for each activity and a timeframe for completion? 6. Is the proposed budget consistent with the goals and activities identified in the project? 7. Does the budget justification for each item include how amounts were determined? 8. Does the evaluation plan satisfactorily describe both process and outcomes evaluation approaches?

  10. Important Dates Questions and Answers from the applicants conference and a transcript will be posted on GCDD s website within three business days. Proposals must be submitted through DD Suites by 11:59 p.m. on March 1, 2022. GCDD will not accept or review any proposals received after this time. Staff will review each application to make sure all materials are submitted and evaluate applications for further review by the Selection Committee (March 1 - 18, 2022). Note: If you are missing any part the application your proposal will be eliminated. The Selection Committee will review applications and budget proposals and conduct interviews, if necessary (Via Zoom) March 21, 2022 April 6, 2022. GCDD will announce the successful applicants by April 19, 2022. Contracts negotiations and Signatures April 19,2022 May 20, 2022
