2010 PHC topics Geographical and internal migration characteristics- Place where present on census night, place of birth, duration of residence, etc.; International migration characteristics-former household members resident abroad, country of birth and country of citizenship/nationality Household and family characteristics-Relationship to reference person/head of household, household composition Demographic and social characteristics-age, sex, marital status, religion, disability characteristics, etc.;
2010 PHC topics Fertility and mortality-CEB, children surviving, births in the past 12 months, deaths in the past 12 months Educational characteristics-Literacy, school attendance, educational attainment Economic characteristics-Labour force status, status in employment, occupation, industry, sector of employment, etc. Agriculture-whether any member of the household is involved in any agricultural activity (identify households in agriculture to serve as a frame for census of agriculture).

Factors to be considered for the selection of topics-2020 PHC Current data needs in the country having in mind the national agenda and the SDG indicators (over 230) UNSD recommended topics as in P&R (core and non core) Cost implications-the longer the questionnaire, the longer the Enumerator will have to stay on the field with its associated cost Except the agriculture section, all questions in the 2010 PHC questionnaire will be included Chosen topics will be shared with stakeholders to solicit their views
Challenges with some topics in the 2010 PHC Issues relating to disability - albinos wanted to be part of the categories Issues relating to ethnicity - some minority groups who were classified under certain broad ethnic groups wanted to stand on their own Religion classified as part of the categories. - Some Muslim groups wanting to be
