Join the Girls Empowerment Group Program led by Hollie Camilleri-Denis & Angela Akinyande, designed to empower and inspire young females in the youth justice service with bespoke sessions focusing on beauty, well-being, and exploitation awareness. Attend workshops like beauty and wall climbing, Barnardo's sessions, and discussions on exploitation to build confidence and skills. The Girls Empowerment Group Little girls with Dreams, become women with a vision This group has been created to allow the young females in the youth justice service to have access to a bespoke programme, created by girls, for girls, to empower, inspire and uplift them on their journey through a system that was not created for them.

Beauty & Wall Climbing Where: Limehouse Youth Centre, Limehouse E14 8BN When: Wednesday 14th February Time: 12:00-16:00 Objective: This session has been created in partnership with Lime house youth centre. The aim is to support and empower them around knowledge of the skin and get active on the climbing wall. Also, to introduce them to local youth provisions in Tower Hamlets. They will learn professional skills on how to enhance facial appearance conditions using array of cleansing techniques and understand skin problems and using correct treatments. The girls will also can engage in sport activities and arts and crafts. Outcome: The young people will have fun in a salon setting, build confidence and communication skills.
Barnardos Where: Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ When: Tuesday 20thFebruary Time: 16:30-17:30 Objective: To enhance the well- being and interpersonal skills of young girls in the Youth Justice System, fostering positive relationships with themselves and others. Session: Introduction to our workshop on relationships with ourselves and others, including red and green flags. Followed by a reflection workshop and evaluation. Outcome: To have better relationship with themselves and others and develop a positive self- identity
Exploitation Where: Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ When: Tuesday 27thFebruary Time: 16:30-17:30 Session: Will include a discussion around girls in gangs, Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) ,the law and consent, sex and girls in power including aspirations and smart goal setting. Outcome: A greater understanding around the dangers of being exploitation and be how to identify warning signs. They will develop skills in how to set goals and achieve them. Objective: To enhance their skills and knowledge around exploitation and allow the girls a safe space to discuss their understanding about criminal and sexual exploitation
Safe East Where: Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ When: Tuesday 5thMarch Time: 16:30-17:30 Objective: To enhance their skills and knowledge around substance misuse. Session: The session will include information around the impacts of substance misuse, STI s, contraception and C-cards/ condoms. Outcome: To girls will be educated around the impact of substances and safe sex. The girls will be given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss any myths associated with substance misuse and sexual health.
Youth Justice Where: Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ When: Tuesday 12thMarch Time: 16:30-17:30 Objective: For the girls to understand the impact of further offending their criminal record and keeping safe online. Session: The session will be broken down into sections and the girls will be given the opportunity to co-facilitate, give their views and options. Outcome: The girls will know how to keep safe online and be able to reflect on their journey through the Youth Justice Service and what their future looks like.
Barnardos & YJS Where: Tower Hamlets, Town Hall, 160 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ When: Tuesday 19thMarch Time: 16:30-17:30 Objective: The girls will understand the importance of self-worth and find ways to see and view themselves in a positive way. Session: For the girls to explore Self-worth and body image in a positive way. Including wellbeing and mindfulness and the opportunity for 1-2-1 consultation with Barnardo s. Outcome: The girls will have better understanding of themselves and learn to love themselves in an empowering way.
