Fall Parent Meeting Chattahoochee Girls Lacrosse

Fall Expectations Work on stick skills and weak areas Small Group Sessions Wall Ball Prepare your body for season Weight training with Coach Rico and Coach Cavannaugh Coach Rico s winter workouts Workout on your own
Small Group Sessions 30 min sessions Maximum of 4 players Google sign-up sheet will be sent in GroupMe Please sign up for no more than 2 time slots per week. May sign up for additional slots 24 hours prior to time slot if all slots are not filled. Skill and position specific sessions Shooting Footwork/dodging Defensive footwork/positioning Draws Goalkeeping (open to anyone interested in trying!) Fundamental stick skills
Tryouts Must attend all 3 days JV and Varsity rosters determined after 3 day tryout Min. # of varsity players selected will be 18, max. will be 24 Returning players are not guaranteed a spot on team level they played on last season. Must earn a varsity spot each year. No one is guaranteed a roster spot on either team if they do not adequately meet the tryout criteria. Placement on teams is not final player performance is continually evaluated and placement may change as season progresses. Participation in club lacrosse and attendance or non-attendance at non-mandatory out of sessions is not taken into consideration for placement on a team.

Swing Players A swing player is an athlete who is selected to practice and compete on both the varsity and JV team on an as needed basis. - Purpose - to help varsity while giving adequate playing time on JV to further develop their skills and understanding of the game. JV Swing Players - those showing strong skills and ability to contribute to varsity during the course of the season. - Will practice with JV on a regular basis and may be asked to practice with varsity and/or dress for varsity games as needed. - Coach West will notify players who will practice and dress for varsity beforehand, typically the Friday before or the week of the competition. Varsity Swing Players - those showing strong skills and ability to earn a spot on varsity but will benefit from additional playing time in JV games. - Will practice with varsity on a regular basis but may be asked to practice with and compete in JV games.
