Welcome to 9thGrade Global Literature! (Sit anywhere for today and grab a syllabus) I am Emily Rousseau! You can call me Emily or Ms. Rousseau
Introductions I am Three truths and a tale. When you find a partner, be sure to introduce yourself! Examples: I just moved home after teaching and living in Italy. I am a vegan. My favorite animals are narwals and French bulldogs. I have taught for fifteen years in Kauai, Oahu, and Eugene s IHS.

I Am Poem At least 10 lines in length Goes beyond a list
Homework Complete a final, lovely product of your I Am poem. Due on Class #3 (Monday!). Read the directions again before you continue. Decorate! These will be shared around the room! Syllabus Signature (Due next class or Monday)

I Am Poems After listening, contact one line and verbally offer one positive comment, a question, or something that you connected with. Example: You mentioned you were a vegetarian, why do you choose to not eat meat? Share with three people! Notice how you can read the poem in different ways with different pauses, breaks, etc each time.
Full Class We are Poem Select one line from your poem to share We will go around in a circle and each share one line! Listen how awesome our shared voices are!!
