Join the global conversation on social and emotional learning at Session 603 happening from 02 to 07 December 2018. Working groups focus on various aspects like advocacy, capacity building, community cohesion, and evaluation. Non-negotiable objectives include advancing social-emotional competence, supporting teacher well-being, integrating SEL in curriculums, providing learning opportunities for all children, and ensuring authenticity in community-centered SEL practices.

Working Groups Global Alliance for SEL McGowan Room Communication / Advocacy developing positions, points of view/ building the compelling case employability, SDGs health and well being - Max Reinhardt Library Educator (inc support staff, para-professionals and leaders) capacity building - Seminar 1 Pedagogical practice + curriculum (Integration and stand alone ) (inc tech potential) Parker Hall Community based / non-formal SEL inc family / community cohesion Seminar 2 Measurement and evaluation Building off 566 statement recommendations and key principles Chinese Room SEL and education in crisis and conflict contexts Seminar 3 Statement writing team
WORKING GROUPS Each working group to come up with one universal non-negotiable about objective of SEL email to Dominic dregester@salzburgglobal.org by Wednesday morning coffee break. NON-NEGOTIABLES TO ANCHOR THE SALZBURG STATEMENT: Create a global collaborative for advancing social emotional competence Provide ongoing support for BOTH teacher wellbeing AND their SEL pedagogical practices Explicitly include SEL in every education system s curriculum and pedagogical practice Ensure all children have access to social-emotional learning opportunities Ensure that social and emotional learning fostered in communities is authentic, contextually relevant and community-centered. Integrate SEL within all forms of education which is crucial to help learners from early childhood to adulthood, particularly those who have been impacted by crisis, conflict and violence.
