God Hidden by His Characteristics EXODUS 33:12-13 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 2 The Ability to Discern

HEAR.YE.HIM 43 O Jesus, there's people in this building tonight, that's joined church years ago And cold formally joined the church... But always wanted the time when they could have the real thing. They've had their ups-and-downs. God, grant to every person tonight, while Your great Presence is here, that they will accept Jesus, the Saviour, and let Him place into their nature, into their character, the characteristics of Jesus Christ, that they might love one another, and love You so much, that they ll go home, act Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 4
like Christians, live like Christians, have fellow- ship with all Christians, be Your children, and be such in the neighborhood, until as that mother deer displayed the love of a mother, and one unbeliever to Christ, may they display the salt of the Kingdom of God in Christian love, until they'll win their neighbors and all around them to the Christ of God. Grant it, Father, Thou knowest the heart of man. Please, Holy Spirit, move into this audience and touch every heart just now. 56-0611 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 5
MIGHTY.GOD.UNVEILED 25 Back in the Old Testament, we find out that God veiled Himself from unbelievers. God has a very odd way of dealing with people. He hides Himself from the unbeliever and reveals Himself to the believer. God does that. 64-0629 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 6
MATTHEW 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 7
THE.ANGEL.OF.THE.LORD 16 The Bible said in these last days that there'd be a famine, not for bread and alone, but for the hearing of the Word of God. And men would go from east, west, north, and south trying to find It, and would fail. You better get sealed into the Kingdom of God by the Holy Ghost, while you got a chance. You talk about a confusing time; it's a coming, when the Bible said, "They'd be so close till it would deceive the very elect, if possible. 51-0414 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 8
MATTHEW 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 9
HE.WAS.TO.PASS.THIS.WAY 120 Brethren, it's the real thing that changes man's mind, changes their attitude. Sometime it's a press, surely, to get to It. Tonight; before you come, study and see what He was. Whatever He was, He has to be the same today. Does God identify Himself by His characteristic? He always must remain that way, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 64-0321 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 10

EXODUS 32:10-12 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. 11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, Characteristics 2 and repent of this evil against thy people. Contoso S u i t e s 13
QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS 59 And now, after He made man in His Own image, after He created him over here male and female, here He makes man out of the dust of the earth. Just the same, "God created a man in His Own image, after His likeness He created him," it's God speaking in His thoughts in His mind. Here's where He actually done the deed. Jesus was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; He wasn't slain for four thousand years afterwards. 62-0527 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 14
GENESIS 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. God sanctifies a specific day or time. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 15
EZEKIEL 20:19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 16
GOD.IS.IDENTIFIED.BY.HIS. CHARACTERISTICS 72 Now in these last days, Heb. 1:1, "God, in sundry times and divers manners, spoke to the fathers through the prophets. In this last day has spoke to us through His Son, Jesus Christ." Identification of God Himself manifested in the same manner as He did in foretime, using His same characteristic. Amen. Heb. 13:8, "He's the same yesterday forever the same ! Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 17
He's the Word for the hour. He's the Word when He created the world. When He created man, that was the Word, His attributes. When He created Christ, that was God, Immanuel. When He made Him Saviour, that was His attributes Healer, that was His attributes. It's the Word always being identified, by the characteristic of God. 64-0311 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 18
PSALM 119:123-125 Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness. 124 Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes. 125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 19
PHILIPPIANS 3:9-14 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. know Him (Gr.) ginosko To come to know, perceive; Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman; To the Greeks, this meant to know facts, but these facts may or may not affect one's conduct. To the Jew, true knowledge always manifested itself in one's conduct. One did not know something until that fact had a practical outworking in his life. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 21
PHILIPPIANS 3:12-14 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. GENESIS 2:4-7 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. NUMBERS 21:4-9 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. 5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 25
7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. I CORINTHIANS 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. I Cor. 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 27
II CORINTHIANS 2:6-9 Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. 7 So that contrary- wise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. 8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him. 9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things. Q.&.A.ON.THE.HOLY.GHOST 41 You are believing unto Eternal Life, but when the Holy Spirit comes, It is Eternal Life never borned of the Spirit until the Holy Ghost comes in. That's correct. A baby's got life in the womb of the mother, little muscles are quivering; it's a life. But it's a different life when it breathes the breath of life into its nostrils. It's a different. 59-1219 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 29
IDENTIFICATION 112 We've got to take the entire, full Gospel. And now, being that we have identified ourselves as full Gospel people, let's mold our character. We're invited to be molded in His Image, that we might reflect His Presence. "And the works that I do, shall you do also. The Life that I live, so shall you." We're invited, by God, to take Him as an Example, and let our character be molded like His. What a thing! My! Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 30
113 Then, when we let His character be in us, then we have become sons, by having the mind of Christ, mind, which is His character. Your mind makes your character. "Let the mind," Paul said, "of Christ, this mind that was in Christ, be in you." Let that mind of Christ be in you. It molds the character of a son of God. 63-0123 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 31
HE.THAT.IS.IN.YOU 107 I stood real still. My brethren up there, and wondering what was happening. The sleet, rain stopped. There came a wind whirling thru the mountains, lifted the clouds, one went this way; east, north, west, and south. Within a few minutes, the sun was shining... I just stood there, just looking around; hat off, I got numb, all over. 109 I thought, "The very God of Creation, it's all in His hands. What's He telling me?" Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 32
And I picked up my gun, wiped off the scope, started to walk back, go down the hill. Something said, "Why don't you stroll with Me through this wilderness, walk with Me?" 111 I said, "Yes, Lord, with all my heart; it would be one of the greatest things I could do, was walk with You." So I put my gun over my shoulder, and I started walking; never a axe laid in it, virgin timber, walking through there. 63-1110 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 33
CRUELTY.OF.SIN.AND.THE.PENALTY 55 Made him out of the dust of the earth, now, not in His Own image. He had already made the man. Then He breathed into him the breath of life, and he became a living soul. So the soul of man is the nature of the spirit. 53-0403 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 34
THE.SEVEN.CHURCH.AGES 105 When God made His first man, He made him in His own image, which was a spirit man in Genesis 1:26. Then there was no man to till the soil. After He'd made man, male and female... Then, Gen. 2, there was no man to till the soil, so God put him in the flesh, made man, not in His image, but out of the dust of the earth, give him a hand like a monkey, foot like a bear, or whatever; I don't know. But He give him five senses to contact his earthly home. 54-0512 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 35
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS.ON.GENESIS 78 Gen. 2:7, "He formed them out of the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils. What connection does the first man have with the second man? The first man is the second man made manifest in five senses. Right now you can't touch God with your hands like that; you can't see God with your eyes. He didn't give it to you to do that. 53-0729 Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 36
I COR. 12:27-28 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular (portion assigned). 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS.ON.HEB.3 781 Listen here, the man is the ruler; don't you think you can rule the house. You're not the ruler of the house. You're not a slave now, but you're a helpmate. The man has the rule over his wife, and he's responsible solely for his wife. God makes the man answer for his wife. Now, read and see if God says that now. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forsomuch as he is in the image and the glory of God. God is not a woman; God's a man. You know when they make virgin Mary and all that intercessions and everything like that, and pray to the virgin Mary, you know what it reminds me of? The great goddess Diana, who Paul rebuked and run out. He said, "Why, God ain't Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 no woman. 38 57-1006
EXODUS 33:21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. 56-0611 HEAR.YE.HIM 43 When the Church of the living God gets to a place and get out of its little old isms and sensations, until it can display the real genuine love of God, then you'll be the salt of the earth that'll create a thirst in the heart of the sinner, that'll make him want to be like you. God grant it to every disbeliever tonight, as we bow our heads. "This is My beloved Son; hear ye Him," the heart of God. Dear Jesus, as my mind slips back to that little opening upon the top of the--or the side of the mountain that day, some twelve, fourteen years ago, near that place called Pond of Safety, to see that old mother deer that she could not help it; she was a mother by nature. God, she had to display her love, her gallant love, because it was her nature. O Jesus, there's people in this building tonight, that's joined church years ago, maybe some of them has not, but they're human beings that You projected Your Son to them, and the love of God to them. And they just cold formally joined the church, or maybe neglected it altogether. But they've always wanted the time that when they could have the real thing. They've had their ups-and-downs and ins-and-outs. God, grant to every person tonight, while Your great Presence is here, that they will accept Jesus, the Saviour, and let Him place into their nature, into their character, the characteristics of Jesus Christ, that they might love one another, and love You so much, that they'll go home, and act like Christians, and live like Christians, have fellowship with all Christians, and be Your children, and be such in the neighborhood, until as that mother deer displayed the love of a mother, and one unbeliever to Christ, may they display the salt of the Kingdom of God in Christian love, until they'll win their neighbors and all Contoso S u i t e s Characteristics 2 around them to the Christ of God. Grant it, Father, Thou knowest the heart of man. Please, Holy Spirit, move into this audience and touch every heart just now. 40
57-0113 WHAT.DOES.IT.TAKE.TO.MAKE.A.CHRISTIAN.LIFE 12 But in the Word I find that God did not intend for the church to be governed by intellectual or by any theology of man, but the Holy Spirit was given to the Church to govern and control the body of Christ. And I think in doing that, with that in mind and in God's program, we will never be successfully, no matter how good our intentions are, until we get back into the center of God's program where the Holy Spirit... Now, realizing that this is no new thing to preach on, It is something that's been preached on many times, but the way we approach it and the way that we take it, we take it still thinking that it is a Holy Spirit controlled church. And yet we put our intellectuals mixed with it, and then we can get a conglomeration of both Holy Spirit and intellectuals. And when the Holy Spirit desires to do a thing and degrades something, or lifts something up, it causes petty jealousy amongst the people, which proves that they haven't got the Holy Spirit. Every man would want to be in his place. Now, in this the people has a reason because they have seen so much denominationals and so many different dictators, as it was, spiritual dictators in the church to say thus and thus. But the Holy Spirit has placed each one into the body of Christ, and we're helpless to maneuver without every member of our body. We have to have my hands, my arms, my mouth, my eyes, my... Everything that's in me has to operate to make my body function perfectly. And then if God wanted His body, the Church, to be governed by His Spirit, there has got to be some way or some program that we've got to enter into other than what we have already had.
