1 Earth and heaven, God created, On the first day He made light, Light from darkness, He divided, And the darkness He called night.
2 A firmament He created, It was on the second day, Both the waters it divided, It is good! The Lord did say.
3 On the third day He made dry land; Separated it from sea, 'Earth' is what He called the dry land, He made every grass and tree.
4 He made great lights on the fourth day: Sun and moon, for day and night; The greater light to rule the day, Lesser light to rule the night.
5 The sea creature He created, And the fowl that flies above. On the fifth day these were blessed, The Great whale and, too, the dove.
6 On the earth He made the creature, Cattle, creeping thing and beast. On the sixth day, the best creature, Man, was created at last.
7 On the seventh day He rested, From the work which He had made. So we do rest as He rested, The Sabbath will never fade.
