Important Dates October 2nd - Senior Saturday (More info to come through google classroom) Be prepared to be here for the entire morning. $5.00 sitting fee for senior yearbook pictures order Senior Supplies ($100 deposit required)- cap, gown, and announcements senior shirt ($12-$40) purchase sr. yearbook ad ($40-$225) Bring cash or more than one check. Mr. Scamardo from Herff Jones will be available several lunch periods in the fall semester to take orders. September Credit Check Letters were sent to homerooms. (eLearning students were mailed home. Please sign and return by Sept. 17th. Oct 1-FAFSA opens for students and parents to complete (2020 taxes) Nov 5th ASVAB (sign up in school to career office) Nov -DHS scholarship applications will be distributed in homeroom. It is also on google classroom.

Advanced Studies Program Students on the Advanced Studies Diploma track engage in accelerated studies that challenge them as critical thinkers and creative problem solvers. To earn an Advanced Studies Diploma, a student must excel in at least 18 classes at the Honors, Gifted, Dual Enrollment (DE), and/or Advanced Placement (AP) level, as detailed below: Curriculum (18 classes) English: 4 Honors, Gifted, DE, or AP classes Math: 4 Honors, Gifted, DE, or AP classes Science: 4 Honors, DE, or AP classes (Physics is accepted as a 4th honors science) Social Studies: 4 Honors, DE, or AP classes (Must include Honors Civics and AP US History) Electives: 2 additional Honors, Gifted, DE, or AP classes (Does not include Gifted Independent Study) Overall 85 B average in all Honors, Gifted, DE, and AP classes No FINAL grade lower than a C in any class
LEAP / Additional Requirements In order to graduate students must pass LEAP 2025: English I or English II Algebra I or Geometry Biology or US History All seniors must complete the FAFSA. If not, you will have to fill out a parental non-participation form before graduation. Complete graduation pathway requirements

Dual Enrollment on the college campus Seniors can enroll at local universities and colleges (Delgado, Southeastern, Holy Cross, UNO, Nicholls, Fletcher, and River Parish Community College) Must have a 2.5 overall GPA Must earn an 18 or better in ELA and 19 or better in Mathematics on the ACT in order to qualify for academic courses and 19 composite on the ACT Students must provide transportation Students are responsible for fees (parking, SGA, etc)

TOPS Students are allowed to go out-of-state and return to a Louisiana college and claim the remainder of TOPS eligibility. You may also start in LA, go out-of-state, then return and claim the remainder of your TOPS. LOSFA recommends sending them your ACT/SAT scores. Code for ACT is 1595 and SAT is 9010. Naviance Naviance is an American college and career readiness software provider that has partnered with St. Charles Parish School to provide students with college planning and career assessment tools. Juniors and seniors will be assigned tasks designed to assist them in career and post-secondary searchers. Students can find Naviance already loaded on their google waffle. Transfering to a 4-year college Earn your Associate s Degree (two years) through BRCC, RPCC, or Delgado THEN Transfer to A Four year college as a junior and complete your Bachelors Degree Transferring to UNO 24 or more credits of courses (English and Math with a "C" or higher) 2.25 or higher cumulative GPA Transfering to LSU 30* or more transferable (academic, non-remedial) credits from a regionally-accredited college or university 2.5 academic GPA on all transferable college work attempted a grade of C or better in English and a grade of C or better in math
Applying to Colleges and Universities Apply to 3-5 colleges or universities. Too many applications become overwhelming and expensive. one or two stretch schools, one or two within reach schools, and one or two well within reach. Apply early: Apply before the end of Fall semester. You must be accepted to be considered for financial aid. Sending Transcripts: In state colleges they have access to your transcripts. Out-of-State colleges complete a Transcript Request form located in the counseling office. Provide the address of the college or university for quicker service.
What are Colleges Looking for? Submit the following: Application (online application, completed) Test Scores (ACT or SAT) College Readiness: English 18; Math 19 Transcripts in-state public colleges can retrieve transcripts online out-of-state or private colleges complete request form. Cost - ACT - $60.00; We have Fee Waivers for students who are on free/reduced lunch based on the school lunch forms completed each year. Writing Portion of the ACT for admissions (costs $85) Tulane and LSU honors college ACT is now allowing subject test retakes SAT I & SAT II (subject area tests) Louisiana suggests college ready: Math =19, English=18.
