Ground-Based Experiments in COSMOS: Final Discussion
In the final discussion of the COSMOS Ground-Based Workshop, various topics were explored including the approach to complementarity with S4 and space experiments, design optimization, challenges in calibration, and testing. Observing sites, impact of atmospheric disturbance, funding opportunities, and acknowledgments were also highlighted. The workshop focused on new contributions, technological readiness, and data analysis challenges in the field of ground-based experiments for COSMOS program.

COSMOS Ground based workshop Final discussion
ASI/COSMOS programme on Ground based experiments Approach: Complementarity wrt. S4 and space (LiteBIRD) Polarization: Strip2, ELFS Spectral distortions: COSMO (precursor to balloon / space?) Design, optimization of frequency bands Identify approaches for genuinely new contributions (with S4, LiteBIRD) Low frequency side High frequency Exploitation of bolometric interferometry for freq > 90 GHz? Multi-moded systems to increase sensitivity Experimental challenges Tech readiness (in Italy / Europe) HEMTs, KIDs (TES) Passive elements: New construction techniques Calibration & Testing
Observing sites: What is the impact of atmospheric disturbance? ELFS: Need of N and S observing sites Atacama/South Pole (S4) Argentinean site? DOME-C? Start with Tenerife QUIJOTE/STRIP telescopes? Data analysis challenges Complexity (array size) of instruments and foregrounds Atmosphere & data analysis Funding opportunities: National support (for Italy: ASI/COSMOS, INFN, INAF) ERC/Synergy EU projects ESFRI framework
