WELCOME TO GUEST SERVICES TRAINING #2 GRAB A COOKIE!! MAY 25TH, 2023
WELCOME! What we are going to do tonight is this: Brendon is going to babble Some practical training for things that we see on a week-to-week basis Talk through some resources that are available to you Time for Questions and Answers . Hopefully Time of prayer Done
SMART GUY QUOTE Gerald Sittser wrote in his book Waters from a Deep Well It was providing a sense of belonging that was not readily available through traditional Roman Institutions, thus earning a reputation that reflected what the New Testament teaches about true community.
DTOTD Acts 5: A few thoughts: There will always be those who oppose what we are doing. The disciples don t stop because of this:
DTOTD Acts 5: 34-39 But a Pharisee in the council named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in honor by all the people, stood up and gave orders to put the men outside for a little whil. And he said to them, men of Israel, take care of what you are about to do to these men. For before these days Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing .
DTOTD Acts 5: 34-39 After him Judas the Galilean rose up in the days of the census and drew away some of the people after him. He too perished, and all who followed him were scattered. So in the present case I tell you ..keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail, but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them .
DTOTD Acts 5: The reason the disciples never stopped is because: The mission set before them was OF GOD and they knew that it would never be overthrown. And when when we come to serve together with the mission OF GOD, we can know: That it will never be overthrown Lives will change. That is because we all have partnered with God to work in our lives and through our lives.

EXTERIOR DOOR OPERATION: So apparently we need to keep the doors closed as much as we can. Talking with Stephen about the system and about what we can do with the doors if we are short people or hands It is best to NOT PROP the doors open The system intakes are in the entry ways so when we had the doors propped open during covid, our systems almost broke which is why it was so warm and musty in the lobby's of the building.

PRAYER. More specifically how do we pray for or with people? To be honest, this is a you call I can t sit here and give you a step 1, 2, 3 to praying. But what I do know is that when you do pray with and for someone, the Holy Spirit will guide you. But if you don t feel comfortable, you can always: Find a staff member to be there with you or to pass off to a staff member Find a prayer partner or point the person towards the prayer partner Invite the person to the prayer room to pray there in a private way ( for them, not you also)
DIFFICULT SITUATIONS: Harvester Christian Church exists to lead people to find and follow Jesus .especially the lost and wounded. Which means .we hope to have messiness in our building. If you are ever in a position where you do not feel comfortable A conversation // sitting situation // the way someone looks at you // some one that might be a little off // just a normal sketchy person You get me or another staff or you can look for a security team member You should never be out of eyesight from a security team member when serving Living Room Peeps if this happens in the living room, Get me right away
